Introducing Private Tasks: Total Control Over Your Workflow

When we built Kobble, our goal was to connect assigners with a massive pool of eager workers, creating a bustling public marketplace where tasks are picked up and completed rapidly. However, as our platform grew, we noticed a recurring piece of feedback: not every task is meant for the public eye.
Assigners told us they loved the seamless escrow, worker tracking, and automated payouts that Kobble offers, but sometimes they needed to restrict who could see or accept a task. Placing specialized or sensitive tasks on the public feed invited too much noise and required heavy filtering of unqualified workers. Thus, Private Tasks were born—a feature that gives assigners complete control over task visibility using a familiar, Google-Docs-style sharing model.
What are Private Tasks?
In Kobble, a Private Task is a task that does not appear anywhere on the public marketplace. It won't show up in search results, category browse pages, digests, or public profiles. Instead, it relies on restricted access methods. We currently support two levels of privacy:
- Unlisted (Link Sharing): The task is completely hidden from the public, but anyone with the direct link can view and claim it. This is perfect for sharing a task outside of the Kobble ecosystem.
- Restricted (Invite Only): The most secure level. Only the assigner, platform admins, and explicitly invited workers can even view the task. If someone else gets the link, they'll be blocked.
Use Cases
Private Tasks unlock several powerful workflows for assigners:
1. Community Rewards & Giveaways
If you have an existing community on Discord, WhatsApp, or Telegram, you can create an Unlisted task and drop the link in your group. This ensures only your loyal community members get the chance to claim the reward, without random users on Kobble swooping in.
2. Targeted Beta Testing
When launching a new feature or app, you might only want a specific, vetted cohort of testers. By creating an Invite-Only task, you can handpick trusted workers, ensuring you get high-quality feedback without leaking your unreleased product to the public marketplace.
3. Sensitive Work & NDAs
Some tasks require handling sensitive data or working on confidential marketing campaigns. Restricting the task to Invite-Only ensures that your internal operations remain completely hidden from competitors who might be browsing the public feed.
How to Go About It
Creating a Private Task is incredibly simple:
- Start creating a new task on your Kobble dashboard just like you normally would.
- Navigate to the Visibility or Sharing settings before publishing.
- Select your preferred privacy level: choose Private Task (Unlisted) for link-sharing, or Invite Only (Restricted) to lock it down to specific users.
- Once created, simply copy the direct task link to share it, or use the Invite dialog to add specific workers by their usernames.
The Perks
By leveraging Private Tasks, you gain several immediate benefits:
- Quality Control: By controlling who sees the task, you guarantee a better match between the task's requirements and the worker's skills.
- Less Noise: Say goodbye to the flood of unqualified claims. You only deal with the people you invited or shared the link with.
- Ultimate Privacy: Keep your strategic initiatives and beta tests completely hidden from the public marketplace.
We're excited to see how you use Private Tasks to streamline your workflows on Kobble!
