Understanding the Claim Window
When you browse tasks on Kobble, you might notice a timer called the Claim Window attached to every task. Whether you are a worker looking to earn or a poster looking for quick results, understanding how this simple timer works is key to getting the most out of the platform.
What is the Claim Window?
The Claim Window is a countdown timer that starts the exact moment a worker claims a task. It represents the maximum amount of time a worker has to finish the task and submit their proof before their reservation expires.
How it Works for Workers
As a worker, the Claim Window is your safety net. Once you click "Claim," one available spot on that task is instantly reserved for you. During this window, no one else can take your spot. You are guaranteed the opportunity to earn the reward as long as you submit valid proof before the timer runs out.
However, you must be mindful of the clock. If the Claim Window expires and you haven't submitted your proof, the system will automatically release your reservation. The spot will become available to other workers again, and you will lose your chance to earn from that specific claim.
Pro Tip: Never claim a task unless you are ready to start working on it immediately. Claiming tasks and letting the window expire repeatedly can negatively affect your account standing.
How it Works for Task Posters
As a task poster, the Claim Window is your defense against "task hoarding." When you create a task, you set the duration of the Claim Window (e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 24 hours depending on the complexity of the work).
If a worker claims your task but gets distracted or Abandons it without submitting proof, their reservation will automatically expire at the end of the Claim Window. Their spot immediately opens back up to the community. This ensures your budget isn't locked up by inactive workers and guarantees that your tasks get completed as quickly as possible.
Summary
The Claim Window is a fair, automated system designed to keep work flowing quickly on Kobble. It gives workers peace of mind by reserving their spot while giving posters the confidence that their tasks won't stall due to inactivity.
